Economic Fiction, As One

In these times of such high intelligence and understanding of human behavior, I am ashamed and appalled for all humanity, at the way the ruling class abuses the masses. I am further shamed by the ignorance of the masses, who have not kept their rulers in check through awareness or by their sheer numbers.
I watch the news, surfing the channels, seeking a glimpse at one of our good ole puppet masters or politicians. I may even catch a few frames or blips about the war but those are far and few.
Across the street they are shutting off the cable as the lessee of that wire looks down, wishing he could afford his connection.
Next door to him the wind blows past a vacant house, a rickety for sale sign and high grass, nobody has been there in months, not even a broker. A car rumbles by on what last fall was the bustling entrance and exit path to our dying city.
It is early summer and it seems that even the birds are wise enough to conserve their energy. There are many, and though they still congregate on the shrubs, trees and pole wires they seem unhappy. Barely, dawn to dusk do they whistle a note. Never see hawks anymore..........
I wonder if they know that our town will not see the return of the seven gallant young people who were killed fighting for the will of some greedy elitist tyrants.
Glancing at the paper I see fuel costs rising again and wonder who truly earns all of that money. Don't they have enough or do they need more? They get mine each and every Tuesday.
I realise that their actions express their priorities. It becomes clear and plain to see how low on that list the majority of us stand, in comparison to their gold, oil, jets and pleasures. Fine opulence for the few while innocent souls perish, fighting other innocent people in the false name of your ego, all caught up in your manic games.
The ignorant and arrogant chase for mammon and power rolls on. It is not only us suffering, this is global.
I gaze at the sky and wonder in the end if we will snuff out humanity..... or if humanity will snuff out suffering.......alone in my chair I sit, as one.....and know that the truth is still the truth.

This is the state of affairs, not just here, but globally. I can't sit in my chair watching this happen. Can you? To become informed on this issue and many other urgent issues go to http://www.usa180.org/ or take a stand and find a way to lend someone a hand.
